Here’s most of our crew during recent training, only 7 were absent.

Crew members are trained to the requirements and criteria established by Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue, which are based upon Canadian Coast Guard standards.

Our training is conducted both here in the Shuswap and at the RCMSAR Regional Training Center, at Sooke, B.C. https://rcmsar.com/training/

Crew are trained in boat handling (both close quarters and open water), navigation by Radar and GPS, using charts, navigational aids, emergency procedures, first aid, boating regulations, search/rescue techniques, etc.

Coxswains receive training in leadership skills, critical decision making, and advanced levels of the crew training as outlined above.
